Clinton Young on Death Row - innocent on death row

Another day in paradise and many more to go. This blog will be really long. Though it can’t be any other way. I have to wrap up 2009 and get ready for 2010. I have many plans and ideas. A few are already underway. My main problem is lack of physical assistance. People on the ground so to speak.

Let me get to some issues from the past few weeks.

Luckily the only time it snowed in this part of Texas, I was outside on the rec yard. It wasn’t cold enough for it to stick, so I couldn’t make the snow angel I wanted to. I did atleast get to hang my head back and catch snow flakes on my tongue. J I am working on a poem about it titled “A Snow Angel in Hell”. I got to change it up now though. Or maybe I can still keep it under that name, though write it as what couldn’t be. Hmm have to think about it.

Robert Thompson was executed after the board of pardon and parole voted to commute his sentence. Govenor Perry vetoed them, so he was executed. This is the second time that board voted for a life sentence. The first time was for Kelsey Patterson. He was mentally ill. A brief history of him is that he had been arrested several times for violent crimes prior to coming to death row. Each time the prosecution chose to not criminally charge him as he was too mentally ill to be held responsible under Texas Law. They instead sent him to a facility for treatment. After a few months he was released. However, as soon as he killed someone in such a way that would make him qualified for the death penalty, the prosecutor sought it. Eugenics??? Modern day at it’s best! The parole board even found that he was too crazy too kill, so they voted for life. However them Perry overrode them. In doing so he stated that his reason was there was no guarantee that Kelsey would not ever be released. As at that time life in Texas was NOT life without parole. A person could get parole in 35 or 40 years, depending on what year they were arrested. Now the unique issue is that RIGHT BEFORE THIS Gov. Rick Perry had vetoed the life without parole law!! So Texas didn’t have it on the law books due to the Govenor himself! The next year Gov. Perry approved the law. A little too late for Kelsey. He really was insane!

This latest circus was unique as well. As Texas killed a man that hasn’t ever killed anyone! They done so under the law of parties. HOWEVER the co-defendant in the case received a life sentence for regular murder. SO the actual Killer, whom the prosecution openly acknowledges was the killer, gets to live and comes up for parole in a little over 20 years from now.

Robert Thompson is dead! I had a chance to talk to him at visit the day before he was executed. He wasn’t someone I normally associated with, though we knew each other. I stressed to him that the Todd Willingham scandal was a double edged sword for him. Many thought and expressed that he would get a stay of execution due to the scandal with Todd Willingham. I stressed otherwise. I expressed that he would be executed as if Perry commuted his sentence, then he would appear weak and as having given in to political pressure. Something that wouldn’t go over well with Perry supporters. On the other hand though, him having executed a man that the state acknowledges did not kill anyone shows the reality of Texas justice and shocks many. We shall see how things work out with the law of parties in the future.

Onto other issues. HATERS! Got to mention them. Many over the years have tried to slow me down or stop me. Some have succeeded in hindering me or convincing simple minded people into turning their backs on me. The difference in these people who try to install barriers in my path and I, is time and motivation. An example, in 2003 when I first got here, someone that knew OF me and as well was the mother of one of my co-defendents girlfriends, posted all kinds of ridiculous comments about me. She stated that I used to get off on hurting small animals as a kid and just painted me as some evil psycho serial killer in the making. Now I never could find out what her last name was or her daughters name. I personally don’t care about her comments as I know it holds no water. What bothers me is the people that believe the bullshit and after they state how much they care about me, they bail on me. Now my sisters, a cousin, ex-girlfriend who I lived with, some childhood friends, a friend of my family who babysat me off and on when I was a small child and even people that I was locked up with in TYC, are on my myspace and facebook pages . Every single one can vouch that I never ran around “getting off on hurting small animals” as this chick stated. Now the unique turn of events is this; I will soon be able to find out her and her daughters name! As my co-defendant will be at my court hearing. Now if I was some sorry snitchin ass dude I could have reported her to C.P.S and such, as she allowed her 15 year old daughter to have a sexual relationship with a 21 year old. That is some serious violations of state law! See, people really should think before they jump out there.

Next issue. Someone a long time ago posted something that I just wanted people to send money to my wife. They didn’t use a name of course. Though the thing is that her or his statement is a misrepresentation of fact. See a few years ago, which I believe can be read about on my older blogs, I had a quarter million dollar hold illegally put on my inmate trust fund account. So they took the money that I received. I had NOTHING! The same judge that I recently tried to get removed from my case was the one that placed it on me. TDCJ does NOT issue shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and/or many other life necessities. TDCJ only provides a pack of powder called Toothpowder,which is like baking soda. Everything else an inmate has to buy. So I couldn’t even get a stick of deodorant. Well I had people send the money they wanted to give me to my wife at the time. Now my ex-wife. She would send it to my homeboy so he could get me the things I needed. I couldn’t tell each person I had to do it this way as sending money to another offender for this reason is a rule violation. So this person with his or her ignorant stereotypical thinking process automatically assumed the worst. Which is a display of his/her fearful paranoid nature. Sadly these people see this stuff and think “Oh my god I read it on the internet. It must be true!”. Yeah, and Obama was not born in the U.S and George Bush was responsible for 9-11! Hey, it is randomly posted on the internet, it must be true!

Another issue is the prosecution. They lie in their filings to the appeals court and lie to the media. The media then runs a story about me claiming I tried to kill another guy and all this crazy just bullshit that is not true! Though I got an answer to that! It will be posted on my website saveaninnocentlife.com in a couple weeks. Actually in about a week or so after this blog is posted. As I was able to release about a thousand pages of legal material to Katie when she came to see me. I as well have mailed out several additional portions. More will be posted in the future. The hold up is that I have a professional webmaster that works on my site. So the cost racks up fast! I could have gotten a pen pal to work on it, though that has been nothing but a disaster in the past! As soon as they get mad about something, guess what gets messed up?! I wrote numerous blogs under the impression that pieces of legal work was on my site. It wasn’t until Katie questioned me on it did I realize it had all been taken down. L Now only two people have the codes. However neither can do anything drastic like taking all the content off or shutting it down without my say. Plus if one tries to change the password the webmaster automatically sends it to the other as well. I am not suggesting that Katie would ever do anything like that. I know she wouldn’t! But I have a system in place to protect myself and the people that help me. This way if something happens they can’t be blamed. Katie helped me get I in place. Same with myspace etc. Anyways, as I get the funding, more and more information will be posted. I have gotten it so that video can be played. So some statements and etc will be posted.

Speaking of Katie, I have a wonderful visit. There was moments where I was extremely angry! Though that was due to the thought that I wasn’t able to get my legal work sent out, as they have a new process in place. Thanks to that idiot Richard Tabler, L doing something and then telling the ranking guards how he done it. However the ranking guards that was working that day and I assume one of the officers from ‘cell search crew’, whom is responsible for going through all out going offender property. They got to my property and got it processed so that I could get it sent out, I really do appreciate that! When I seen the property officer in the visitation room allowing Katie to sign for it, it really did brighten my mood. I had my mind made up that as soon as I got back to my cell that day I was going to level three! Though thankfully everything worked out for the best. All is well that ends well. Other than getting upset over the property that I was trying to send out and the guards at the gate upsetting her, we had a really good visit. It was nice to get out there and laugh.

I was just thinking. (I have had several pauses during the process of writing this blog. They just passed out mail. I received a letter from a very close friend. This is what got me thinking.) Anyhow, I was thinking about how blessed I am to have some of the people in my life that I do. We often take things and people for granted when they are present in our life. Though I tend to stop and think about each person, their personalities and just general nature. I can honestly say that there are a few people in my life that I am truly blessed to have! Even though I am on death row I have something that many in the free world do not and will never have. A true friend that loves and accepts them no matter what. Well no matter what is too absolute! But not trying to get all philosophical here. Point is I really do have some good people in my life and that really warms my heart! I know that no matter who tries to get people to turn against me or leave my life, No matter what happens in my case, they will be by me still. They are well grounded and intelligent. Even though one of them thinks because she is learning how to fence that she will be some great swordswoman or something! ;) ha.

Anyways, I just wanted to take a second to comment that it is really nice to know and be able to actually feel that I have some that truly love me. It takes a lot for me to build a bond with someone. Had to deal with too much drama in the past! It helps keep me motivated.

Back to the topic of haters. Some have posted comments like “He only cares about his case..” DUH! They post this to talk bad about me. Which is totally ridiculous. It just shows how some think that come into my life. I had many that wrote me and in their first letter make a comment about not wanting inappropriate letters. These people NEVER get a response from me. The only person that wrote that kind of statement in her first letter and got a response from me. I asked her, “what makes you think that I would want to take my time and effort to write you such a letter? What is it about you that makes you think I am in some way attracted to you in this manner?” Needless to say, she didn’t write anymore. Also there is no need to write “I only want to be friends”. Not every inmate is looking for a relationship. I am on DEATH ROW! This is some real life or death shit! I got people trying to take my life from me! I don’t have time or energy to focus on anything other than saving my life! I do not want to be a death row Casanova. I do not want to be a celebrity. I want to LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! That means NOT DIE! I really enjoy meeting and writing different people. I just don’t like it when people try to hold me in this stereotype. Cool is the rule.

On to even more matters. J I told you this would be long!

There is a new song out that is bad ass! It is “Do I” by Luke Bryan. I really like that song!

I have a hearing on my appeal in court in January 2010.

Long sigh. After the hearing everything, no matter what, will start to move faster. So I am trying to get all in order for the new year. I am motivated and energized. I had a couple little set backs. But that just makes me push harder to achieve my goals and think up additional ideas to compensate for the set backs. I look at my situation as a war. A warrior needs rest. I had some rest and I bullshitted with wasting time and allowing people to take up too much energy. SO now its time to focus and truly strive for success.

Onto positive matters.

I came up with some ‘tongue in cheek’ ideas that hold humor and as well make it so that people can help. It will be in the store portion of my website.

Katie has been working on a couple marches. One in Texas and one in D.C.

We have as well put together a campaign packet that has to be obtained through Katie, which assists to outline and organize everyone that desires to help. A problem that we were having was people offering to help, yet it stopped at the offer. I know that people in the free world are moving at a faster pace and overlook matters. So the idea was formulated to create the campaign packets. Katie has informed me that people do find them easier and convenient.

A couple people seen my setting was on divorced on the myspace page and expressed concern. My ex-wife and I have been separated for years!! Many of the blogs on saveaninnocentlife.com site are old. There is as well several blogs lost in time due to having to switch sites and etc. I need to get the typos on the old blogs fixed and repost the ones not up. I have copies of 98% of them.

So much to do in 2010! I had made mention to Katie that I notice many people on the myspace and etc send a message that they will write and I never get word. If you write me and you do not get a response from me within a month of the day you wrote me, please inform Katie that you haven’t heard from me. As sometimes, depending on the area you live in or if you live in another country, mail will take ten days at times. I get mail from Florida faster then from some locations in Texas. Mail from Canada is just awfully slow! I think it is the slowest mail system in the world! Plus during the time of year factors in as well. Holidays are slower. I got a letter from Sweden last night that took 15 days!! So if you want to get a message to me fast, the best thing to do is send a email through www.jpay.com. If it is sent before 2pm central time I will get it the same day, as the mailroom clerks print them at 2pm. The guards pass out mail between 7pm-10pm.

As for myspace messages, Katie prints them out at the end of the week and then mails them to me. So that is why I am slower to respond to the messages sent through myspace. Point is that when having to deal with the United States Postal Service and TDCJ, be ready for some slow motion.

I am going to go ahead and wrap this one up. I have to get some additional legal work sorted and ready to be mailed out.

I do want to thank everyone that sent or had sent the Christmas/Holiday cards.
