Topic: A Little Bit of Everything
Last year about this time of the calendar I was thinking I could face an execution date 90 days later.
When one has battled a system for so long and so hard, it is hard to have faith in doing something other than fighting. My case has had many new twists and turns. Then to say the least, I was exhausted! Years of this has worn on me a bit. Then I had to deal with stupid shit because of others dumb ass ways. It all adds up. Most days I just laid back in the cell listening to the radio.
A bit of good change. For years I was on outside rec. restriction, meaning I could not go to the day room. A good thing about going outside was the sunshine, though I was further isolated. The outside rec yard is a room with bars for the roof and bars in the middle so two people cannot have contact.
The sunlight is why I look so dark sometimes. Due to the times Jessica seen me, I know in some parts I am lighter and others I look like a blue eyed Arab! More so with my beard, huh Michelle? 😉 Being further isolated in a place that is built for isolation…Not always a good thing. What ended up happening is my ability to move around was further restricted, causing me to lack the small degree of independence that is allowed. Thus, having to depend on others more, which is hell for me.
I was restricted due to past acts from the day room. Use of forces were years ago in my more rebel days. A fellow locked up with me decided to say mean things to hurt my feelings by calling me a bitch as he walked by the day room bars, wich resulted in me bitch slapping him through the bars, causing me to lose my day room attendance abilities (the bars are big enough to reach through). The ranking officials here, due to my years of good behavior, allowed me back into the day room. I could literally feel the difference. The ability to move around more. It is hard to explain, really. It was like I felt more alive. I got my old edge back. That was the minor highlight in an otherwise stressful past few months. November is always stressful due to marking years locked up, then the usual holidays and such.
Only have had two visits since November. One of the visits being a special visit over a few days. Others had things going on in their lives. The mail situation is still horrible for me. I got mail twice in over two weeks. No letters since like the 13<sup>th</sup> or 14<sup>th</sup> of February. Jpays on two occasions since the 10<sup>th</sup> of February. Today is March 1<sup>st</sup>!
I haven’t heard from my lawyers in a month.
So yeah, I can safely say I am not in the best of moods right now.
Only jpays I have received since the 9<sup>th</sup> of February is two from Michelle, one from Amy, and one from Laura, one from a lawyer who is not on my case, and a funds deposit notice. I got those all in one of the two days in over two weeks, so if any sent me something in that time period, well, I haven’t gotten it.
I got 2 valentines day cards. One from Jessica and Meike. Which just goes to show just how commercial valentines day has gotten! They got cards for siblings, etc now. I tell everyone there is a million ways to make money in this world! I am NOT saying I wanted more valentines day cards! J ha, let me make that clear. Just making a statement of fact!! Oh, I did get another one, a funny one from Alex. Write that just in case any others sent one, you know I didn’t get it.
In my last blog, I ranted about jpay. Amazing how few people complained. People do not have to use jmail to write me. Regular letters are great. Or you can still use jpay. Just if I don’t get the shit, don’t get mad at me for not writing.
Nothing new in my case. Again, haven’t heard from any damn body.
Do know the lawyers etc. are supposed to meet sometime between last week and the next couple of weeks. I do know that something is going to happen somewhere! At least I now that!
I myself have not been writing very much, though I am back at it again. Been writing and reading more.
Right now the unit is on lockdown. It is going to be a long lockdown. They are searching through everything piece by piece. Long sigh. Time keeps on ticking. I might get back into doing song reviews, etc, but not sure yet.
An idea I had, a couple were on board to help with it. Hopefully it sorts out sooner rather than later.
Oh, before I wrap this up. Most of the longer than expected wait has been due to prosecutor on the case having to deal with some other cases awaiting trial. Not complaining. Just explaining as I had previously expressed a different time period of events that was expected. I am at least able to express that I am grateful the case is being looked at from all angles.
Nothing else really to write about. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Time ticks on.
